Bravado Spice "Ancho Masala" Hot Sauce Review
Today's review is a one-bottle wrecking crew from Bravado Spice out of Houston, TX. This one features Trinidad Scorpions, Carolina Reapers and ghost peppers along with a fantastic mix of roasted garlic, tomato and garam masala. The smoky kick from the Ancho creeps in behind, as does a life-altering and long-lasting burn. Holy crap.

The Last Dab Apollo Review
Просмотров 2,1 тыс.3 года назад
This maelstrom of pain from the good folks at Heatonist and Puckerbutt Farms features the Apollo pepper. This is the latest lovechild from mad scientist Ed Currie, coming across to me as a cross between a Carolina Reaper and a weaponized Fatalii. All nose and no tongue, this one smells delicious but has little in the way of a tasting experience due to the total exclusion of seasoning and salt. ...
Cheetos Pepper Puffs Review

Today's chili pepper adventure is a weaponized take on Flamin' Hot Cheetos - Pepper Puffs. These delectable puffy balls of spicy air look like the Chili's logo and taste better than the standard Flamin' Hot Fare. For $2, I have to recommend. "Los Calientes Barbacoa" Hot Sauce from Heatonist & Hot Ones
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.3 года назад
This iteration on the Los Calientes formula uses smoked jalapenos and chipotle to pay homage to the flavors of barbecue. The traditional Los Calientes apricot flavor pairs very well with the new smoky additions, making this a great sauce for charred/smoked red meat and an enticing changeup for your next bacon BBQ burger. Check it out at Heatonist: heatonist.com/products/hot-ones-los-calientes-b...
"Jala Pepa" Hot Sauce from Savir Foods
Просмотров 7273 года назад
As seen on Hot Ones, this mild and creamy blend of jalapenos and aromatics is one of the tastiest sauces I've had in a while. The sweetness of red bell peppers goes nicely with the additions of oil and the cilantro and cumin flavors. This is a bit pricey but well worth it, and definitely one I'm going to burn through in no time. Check it out: savirfoods.com/shop/ols/products/jala-pepa Don't for...

African Peri-Peri Sauce from African Dream
Просмотров 3003 года назад
This double hot sauce review is a pair of intriguing, unusual peri-peri sauces from the good folks at African Dream Foods. With a funky fermented flavor and hints of sweetness and tanginess, both of these are unique peri-peris unlike any I've had before. At this price, definitely recommend for a changeup though I do think the ghost pepper is a clear favorite over the lemon and garlic. Check 'em...
"Roasted Reaper" from Hellfire Hot Sauce
Просмотров 2973 года назад
Today's hot sauce review is one featured on Hot Ones - Hellfire Hot Sauce's Roasted Reaper sauce. This is a kicked-up, onion-rich take on a salsa verde and it's one that I really enjoyed. Delicious oniony punch, super tangy and just the right hit of tomatillo and reaper flavors. I didn't think that reapers would work in a green sauce, but this proves me wrong. It's pricey for a taco sauce, but ...
"La Mangonada" Beer from Weathered Souls
Просмотров 1253 года назад
Today's review is a wild-hearted sour beer from San Antonio, taking a crack at a self-contained mangonada. This beer is a surprise through and through, with a crazy-thick texture giving way to a refreshingly-dry blend of tropical fruit, chili flavor and a hint of the sea. Much more drinkable than expected, and one that I find myself pining for already. Check out Weathered Souls here: weathereds...
Carolina Reaper Almonds from Blue Diamond
Просмотров 8 тыс.3 года назад
This review is a Blue Diamond almond, infused with the Carolina Reaper. The result is a smoky, savory, delicious snacking nut with a solid but unobtrusive burn. Similar to the Habanero BBQ and Smokehouse flavors, this one takes the best of both and adds a leveled-up spice that is super enjoyable. If you're the spicy type and are in need of a beer snack, gotta recommend this one. Check 'em out: ...
Mark's "Barbados Style" Hot Sauce
Просмотров 4753 года назад
Today's review is a mustard-based, Caribbean-style sauce from Mark's out of Montreal. This is the most subtle take on the style I've had yet, letting the gentle papaya serve as the backbone of the sauce. The mustard and the fruit take a backseat to the delicate balance of flavor, with the burn in contrast as it comes on quick and exits in moments without a tip of the hat. It's a pricey one, but...
Roy Graham's Smoked Bhutlah Hot Sauce

Spicy Pickle Beer from Martin House & Best Maid
Просмотров 5353 года назад
This bizarre-yet-super-charming outing is one of spicy pickle beer by way of Best Maid and Martin House. This Texas craft brewery goes totally off the rails with a salty, sour, pickly oddball that's just crazy enough to work. It's only a little spicy, but it packs as much pickle flavor as an equal amount of brine. And it's red! For no reason! What's not to love? Check it here: untappd.com/b/mar...
Culley's "No. 10" Carolina Reaper Hot Sauce Review
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.3 года назад
This reaper-infused hurricane of heat from New Zealand is called "No. 10". It gets pretty close to a 10 on the heat scale, but does it stack up on flavor? I'd say it does as a straightforward Carolina Reaper pepper sauce. Wicked-hot burn and a delicious rich pepper flavor, with a nice kick of salt and vinegar. For the price, this is a bargain for how hot and flavorful it is. Get it from Puckerb...

I have been growing about six ghost pepper plants for the last year... two or three of them for nearly two years. I toiled, labored, and brought them back and forth into the house during the winter. I fought off legions of aphids. This springtime, the plants went into overdrive, it's now August and some of the plants are so large, they are nearly as tall as me. I just went outside with a tape measure and grabbed some approximate measurements of the largest plant: 5 feet tall (about 3 1/2 feet from the top of the soil in the pot to the top of the leaves), 4 feet deep, and 4 feet wide. I generally use the peppers for a spicy rendition of Bobby Flay's jerk chicken: I substitute anywhere from 3-7 ghost peppers in for 1 scotch bonnet pepper so my wings are HOT. I've had so many peppers this year: I have a fairly large frozen bag of them (split and deseeded) and at the moment, 8 full jars of dehydrated peppers (also sectioned and deseeded). All of this isn't even counting all of the peppers that I've given away, eaten in marinades, on pizza tops, in tacos, ground beef, etc. I am going to grind the dehydrated peppers up with a mortar and pestle and carry them with me when I have to go overseas next year. Also, I now have a Trinidad Scorpion and Carolina Reaper plant growing at the moment...no peppers yet, but the Scorpion is 2 feet tall from the top of the soil and the reaper is 3 feet tall at this point. Keeping the ghost pepper plants alive over the winter, and seeing them truly come back to life in the springtime, is such a joy and it is magnitudes more endearing than simply growing them for a season (which is also quite awesome). Edit: Oh, and all those ghost pepper plants came from one tiny plant that I bought from Lowe's or Home Depot for about 7 dollars. Keep your seeds ;)

This might sound like an odd one; but Tabasco is my go to because of my lifestyle. I’m a semi-pro powerlifter and unlike a lot of my brethren, I like to keep my calories down and not get overly chunky. 90% of hot sauces are full of chemicals, thickeners, sugars, fruit/vegetable juice concentrates and all of that ilk; fine in the off season but competition time is a no no. Tabasco is just a straight, simple and enjoyable hot sauce that I can splash away on anything without thinking twice about it. The family reserve is even better, the apple cider vinegar just adds a little extra contrast and flavour in too. It was your video that got me to try a bottle, so thank you! And I asked Tabasco the question for you; the difference in mouthfeel is because the sauce ferments to multiples of magnitude longer than the standard, it means the pepper particles break down much smaller than the standard during the mixing cycle, hence the more substantial but light mouth feel 😁

When I talk to people about regular Tabasco, I'm always surprised people rarely mention how insanely oaky it is, being that every bottle ages on white oak for 3 years. I think maybe people don't drink a lot of oak-aged wines or oak barrel-aged craft beers so they are not familiar with that oak wood note. In fact, my friends have told me, about regular Tabasco, that "there is something weird in it." 😄So, anyway, with this Family Reserve aging on oak for 8 years (nearly three times as long!) I was expecting an oak bomb! Funny that is tastes so strongly of white wine vinegar. I'm gonna have to order this and check it out. Thanks for the video!
